Setting up Fees for Anesthesia

Before you begin using anesthesia billing, you must make sure that your anesthesia fees are set up correctly in your fee schedule.

  • Base Units: The initial anesthesia amount used to induce an anesthetic state

  • Minutes/Unit (Hour 0-4): Indicates the number of minutes per unit for the first 4 hours of anesthesia

  • Minutes/Unit (Hour 4+): Indicates the number of minutes per unit for every hour after the first 4 hours of anesthesia

Using Anesthesia Fees in the Charge Window

Once you set up your anesthesia fees in your fee schedule, you can begin billing anesthesia charges in the patient's ledger.

Go to the ledger Ledger and open a New Charge window. Once you have selected the anesthesia fee, you will notice that an Anesthesia tab has appeared next to your Diagnosis, Specialty, Notes and Rx tabs.
