Each procedure entered in Charting View will have a corresponding note in the Clinical Note Table. The clinical note will contain information that is relevant to the procedure that was completed. General clinical notes can be added to this table without a procedure.
Clinical notes should be invalidated to remove the graphical representation within the charting view. Be sure to click the note button to see the notes table.

The pen tool will allow the user to annotate or 'draw' on the selected tooth. The tooth, surface, and quad will automatically post based on the users charting. The description and fee will pull from the procedure that was added to the patient's chart. The provider can be selected when using the charting menu.
The Clinical Note needs to be added by the clinician. Simply click the clinical note box to free type text into this field. Common Clinical Notes can be set up to make use of a template when typing a clinical note. Clinical notes can be modified by double clicking on the line item. MacPractice will pull up a new window allowing the user to make a change. The old note will be crossed out but still visible, retaining the note integrity. If the note should not be changed, click the padlock button beside the note to lock from future changes. Note: This note can only be unlocked by the user that initially locked the note. These notes are very handy as the clinician can see the entire history of the patients chart. These notes can also be instantly pulled into a note template if the patient needs to be referred to another office.

If no tooth is selected in the chart, all notes will appear in the Clinical Note table. Selecting a tooth in the chart will filter the Clinical Note Table to only show notes that pertain to the selected tooth. The Clinical Note table can be color coded to match the charting highlight settings. The user can also filter by the type of procedure:
Completed
Completed Clinical Notes will show in this table if the Completed button is highlighted. The button is on when the words are displayed in white and the button is colorized. This button does NOT change the display or the function of the restorative chart. This button will only hide and show completed clinical notes.

Planned
Planned Clinical Notes will show in this table if the Planned button is highlighted. The button is on when the words are displayed in white and the button is colorized. This button does NOT change the display or the function of the restorative chart. This button will only hide and show planned clinical notes. Planned clinical notes can also have a background color to emphasize that they are treatment planned for the future.

In Build 7.3.17+, we have added a new filter called "Deleted Notes" that allows you to recover Clinical Notes that are connected to deleted Procedures, thus causing those notes to appear to be missing. By clicking this tab so the text is white but the background is grey, deleted clinical notes are present within the Clinical Note Table.
