Why do I need to install Java?

Some users may be prompted upon starting and logging into MacPractice that they need to install Java.

Java is only required with a few features in MacPractice. If the following features are on your license, you may be prompted to install Java:

  • DemandForce integration

  • CDA - Canadian eClaims

If you do not use either of these features, you do not need to install Java, and you shouldn't be prompted to unless these features are enabled on your license. If you do happen to be prompted to install Java and you do not use the above features, you can disregard the message with no worries.
