Patient Charges By Referral Report

The Patient Charges by Referral report will show you charges associated with your referrals broken down by referral.

Within the month, the production information is first broken down by patient and then by the specific charges.

Filter Options

  • Select Providers/Select Offices: As with most reports in MacPractice, the Patient Charges by Referral report can be broken down by provider and office. In this case, it is the provide and office in the charge window.

  • Select Referral Types: Allows you to filter the report to show only referrals/charges associated with the specific referral type associated with the referral in References > Referrals.

  • Procedure Start Date/End Date: Filters the report to show only charges entered between the given dates.

After selecting your filters, click Apply to see your results.

The initial view of the Patient Charges by Referral Report will show a breakdown of charges and payments, organized by referral name.

  • Referral Name: Lists the names all referrals (as entered in References > Referrals) associated with charges during the selected date range.

  • Referral Type: Displays the referral type associated with the referral in References > Referrals.

  • Charges: The total dollar amount of all procedures associated with a referral from the given date range.

  • Payments: Reflects payments applied toward referral charges performed in the selected date range. These numbers will not match deposits, gross receipts, or earned receipts, as each of those reports figure their date range on different criteria.

  • # Of Patients: Displays the number of patients with charges associated with the referral during the date range.

You can click the triangle to the left of the Referral Name column to show additional information about the charges associated with that referral.

First Expansion

  • Patient Last, First: Lists the patient's name, last name first.

  • Address: Lists the patient's address, as entered in the Patient screen.

  • Office and Provider: Lists the Office and Provider associated with the patient's charge(s).

  • Fee: Lists the total fee amount for the service.

  • Lab: Lists the lab costs associated with a charge, if any.

  • Neg Adj: Reflects negative adjustments applied toward the charges performed in the selected date range.

  • Pos Adj: Reflects positive adjustments associated with the charges performed in the selected date range.

  • Write-Off: Reflects write-offs applied toward referral's charges performed in the selected date range.

  • Patient Paid / Insurance Paid: Reflects payments applied towards the charges performed in the selected date range. These numbers will not match deposits, gross receipts, or earned receipts, as each of those reports figure their date range on different criteria.

  • Unpaid: Shows the unpaid amount for all charges associated with the referral and patient for the selected date range.

You can click the triangle next to the "Patient Last, First" column to see information about the specific charges included on the report.

  • Code: Shows the code for the procedure.

  • Fees: Shows total fee for the procedure.

  • Lab: Lists the lab costs associated with a charge, if any.
