Follow-Ups/Recalls Reference Node

This node is used to maintain (add, edit, delete) Follow-Ups and Recall types. Keep in mind the verbiage is different depending on the flavor of MacPractice your office is running, but both the Follow-Up (MD, DC, 20/20) and Recalls (DDS) work exactly the same.

To create a new Follow-Up/Recall type, select the node (Follow-Ups/Recalls) in the sidebar and click the green plus button above the sidebar. In the main MacPractice window, enter the type name and the frequency (in days). Save the Follow-Up/Recall in the Edit menu > Save Record, or use the Command-S keyboard shortcut.

Note: When creating recalls, it is not recommended to use the same name for multiple recalls. Create a unique name for each recall to avoid confusion. For example, name multiple one year recalls as 1 Year, One Year, 1 Yr, 1 Year Only, and so on.

Once saved and added to a procedure, Macpractice will calculate the Follow-Up/Recall Date based on the selection made in the Reference.

For example, if a procedure in your fee schedule has a Follow-up/Recall Type tie that has a Frequency in Days set to 90, the Follow-Up/Recall added to the Patient's account will have a Follow-Up/Recall Date of 90 days after the posted date.
