Common Rejections - Missing/Invalid Admission Date

Missing/Invalid Admission Date

Rejection Message:

  • Payer/Trading Partner REJ Payer Response - THE ADMISSION DATE (LOOP 2300, DTP) IS REQUIRED ON ALL INPATIENT CLAIMS. IF NOT REQUIRED BY THIS IMPLEMENTATION GUIDE, DO NOT SEND

This rejection is stating that an 'admission date' is required when sending a claim with an 'inpatient hospital' place of service. Place of service is set in the charge window from the patients ledger. Once 'inpatient hospital' is set as the place of service, MacPractice will mark the Facility and admitted date in red to notate a required field. To fix a claim with this rejection, open the associated charges and verify that an 'admission date' is entered. A facility will also need to be set on the charge for the admission date to show on the claim.

Note: Admission date should be before the 'Date of Service' to prevent other rejections.
