Invalid NDC

Rejection Message:

A claim with this rejection means that the NDC that was submitted on the claim was invalid. This could be due to the NDC being obsolete or the incorrect number being sent on the claim. It is good to check the NDC against the FDA's website for accuracy, and to be sure that the NDC is still valid. Once the correct NDC is located, it can then be tied to the medication record so that the claim can be rebuilt and resent. You can do this from the charge window under the Rx tab.

Additional NDC Information

On drug packaging, many NDCs are displayed in a 10-digit format. Correct billing of an NDC requires an 11-digits in a 5-4-2 format. To get an NDC from 10 to 11 digits requires the placement of an extra zero; this is dependent on the 10 digit format.
