Common Rejections - Medicare/Tricare Claims

Tricare with Medicare claim submission

Rejection Message:

This rejection will present itself when a patient has Medicare as a primary insurance and Tricare as a secondary insurance. Normally claims would be sent to Tricare using payer IDs CH001, CH002, or CH003 depending on the region. However, when a patient has Medicare as a Primary, standard Tricare regions won't process the secondaries. In this instance the claims need to be sent to Tricare for Life; payer ID TDDIR. Tricare for Life does require additional enrollment separate from standard Tricare; that will need to be completed before claims can be submitted.
