Miscellaneous

  • Updated Apache to 2.4.55 and NGINX to 1.22.1. 

Build 14.5.5-12

After updating to Build 14.5.5-12 and above, you MUST update your codes on the MacPractice Server, otherwise errors will occur.
You can do so by following the instructions presented in this linked article.

Build 14.5.5 contains CCDA changes in compliance with the Cures Act. Updating to this build will impact EHR and EMR/EDR form templates. Please read this article for instructions to update your form templates.

Misc

  • Made changes across several abilities to implement CCDA changes to comply with USCDI standards.

  • Addressed an issue when running the "Update Bill as Individual" Database Utility where newly created Providers would not work as expected.

  • Addressed an issue where compliance scans would not succeed without some manual edits to apache config in some cases. 

  • Resolved an issue where in some rare cases, after installing a fresh copy of MacPractice, logging into MP would cause an unexpected quit.

Build 14.5.4-15

Clinical

  • Adjusted exported CCDA records to ensure they include the original claim Transaction Reference number. 

ePrescribe

  • Addressed an issue where the Prescribed Date of a prescription would not sync from NewCrop in error. We also changed the Prescribed Date field title to "Effective Date".

Faxing / Updox

  • Addressed an issue when accessing the Faxing Ability where there would only be a blank page presented in error. 

Miscellaneous

  • Made some updates to CCDA records to ensure the correct HL7 information is retained for the office in the CCDA.

MP.Go

  • Added the MP.Go installation package to the MacPractice server installer. 

Build 14.5.3-31

Clinical

  • Addressed an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit when utilizing the CCDA Export Manager node with the "Export Patient Incidents with changes from the last 48 hours" option. 

Digital Radiography

  • Addressed an issue with recognizing the Radiovision App. 

  • Resolved an issue when resizing a thumbnail in a DR Visit, where if you log out and back in, the changed thumbnail size would not be retained in error.

EHR

  • Resolved an issue when editing a medication from the EHR Ability under an Incident, where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit in some circumstances. 

Managers - ERA Manager

  • Addressed an issue with ERA remittance date preference data not syncing appropriately. 

  • Made an adjustment to allow multiple selections to perform bulk status actions. 

Miscellaneous

  • Updated Apache to 2.4.54, and OpenSSL to 1.1.1q.

Notes

  • Addressed an issue with Note categories changing width and sizes as the columns are resized in error.

Preferences - Server Backups

  • Addressed some issues that could occur if the user clicks the Backups button multiple times in error. 

References

  • In the Insurance Company Reference category, added a new "Eligibility NPI Override" selector to be used in cases when some insurances require Provider NPI for eligibility checking even if the provider has Bill as Individual selected. 

Rx Ability

  • Resolved an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit when renewing a medication record while printing. 

Schedule

  • Addressed an issue where in the On Call node, the Start and End Time fields were not always editable in error. 

  • Resolved an issue with the Advanced View of an appointment, where if you view the Account Tab of the Advanced View, the Provider field would display "None" in error. 

Build 14.5.2-41

Dental

  • Corrected an issue in the Dental Tab where the Expand All option for Clinical Notes was not behaving as expected. 

  • Addressed an OS compatibility issue where there were multiple spaces between nodes in the Dental sidebar in error.

EMR

  • Addressed an issue when printing forms when previewing them in the Clinical Ability, where the margins as set in EHR/EMR were not the same in error.

  • Added a brief 3-second delay after creating a patient form from a template, as prior to this change, accidental double or triple clicks were causing multiple extraneous patient forms to be generated in error.

  • EMR Vitals widget's height would be set to 0 in error. 

iEHR

  • Addressed an issue with the signature box not displaying a correct narrative, either in its section on the form view or when on the narrative view. 

Ledger

  • If an Incident is archived and then unarchived, MacPractice should no longer unexpectedly quit. 

  • Taxable charges should now display correctly in the Charges Window.

  • Addressed an issue with re-arranging Treatment Plans in the same Incident.

  • Resolved an issue with printing an Insurance Tracer, where if you cancel and repeat the step to Print an Insurance Tracer, MacPractice could unexpectedly quit. 

  • Addressed some issues with dark and light mode in the ledger. 

Managers

  • Addressed an issue with the Print Patient Per Page option in the ERA Manager, where the code list was not included in the print in error. 

  • Made some adjustments to the filtering claims by date options so they should now behave as expected.

Miscellaneous

  • Expanded the Group ID fields to contain up to 30 characters (from 25). This will also reflect in paper forms.

Dental

  • Resolved an issue where the user would be unable to select a Surface Restoration in some circumstances.

Digital Radiography

  • Addressed an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit when adding a record in some circumstances.

Patients

  • Addressed an issue with the Communication Preference drop down menu in the Communication -Sub-Tab of the Patients Tab.

Statements

  • Addressed an issue with the Statement Code and Diagnosis form, where only four diagnosis codes would pull onto the form in error.

  • Resolved an issue where in some rare cases, insurance payments could display twice in the Account Ledger. 

Managers

  • Added the ability to select multiple claims in the New Claims Manager.

  • Addressed an issue when Retrieving Archived templates via the File > Retrieve Archived > Unarchive EMR Template option, where MacPractice would unexpectedly quit. 

  • Resolved an issue when attempting to navigate to a Patient via the Inspector drawer, say for example when selecting an Insurance Company in References. By double clicking a patient's name in the Inspector, you would not always be taken to the appropriate account in error. 

Patients

  • Corrected an issue where the user would not be able to re-order Account Alerts and save them as expected.

Schedule

  • Addressed an issue on Big Sur where in some circumstances, when clicking and dragging to create new appointments, MacPractice would unexpectedly quit. 

Security

  • Updated our Apache configuration to improve security.

  • Resolved an issue when double clicking an ERA Payment in the Ledger, when you're taken to the ERA Manager, where all the details aren't pulled in error.

iEHR App

  • Added a new feature to save drafts!

ERA Manager

  • Resolved an issue that was causing a delay when loading ERA Reports. 

Ledger

  • Addressed an issue with inactive providers that are tied to charges being selected when creating a new charge in error. 

  • Addressed an issue when posting a patient payment, where if you tab through the fields to the procedure table, MP could unexpectedly quit in some situations.

Schedule

  • Addressed an issue with tooltips when hovering over the Resource column titles. 

  • Resolved an issue when navigating to a patient's Clinical chart via right-clicking an appointment of the patient's in the Schedule, where a different patient could be selected in the Clinical Ability in error.

Server Backups

  • When a Backup location added to Preferences > Server Backups is inaccessible, the next time you restart MP you'll be alerted that the location isn't accessible, and a button will be provided that allows you to check System Preferences.

  • Resolved an issue where in some cases creating a backup could get into a situation where the backup never finishes.

Reports

  • Addressed an issue with the Posted/Procedure Date Day Sheet reports, where the Adjustments and Negative Adjustments filters were not behaving as expected.

  • Resolved an issue where the camera button in the lower left corner would not appear as expected when an external webcam is plugged into a Mac with a M1 processor.

  • Addressed an issue when importing patient forms in EMR, where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit in rare circumstances. 

EHR

  • Resolved an issue with added EHR narrative notes not being formatted properly. 

  • Addressed an issue where Registration Forms filled out on the Portal would not show the patient's selected Gender and D.O.B. in error. 

HL7

  • Added an additional field in Preferences > HL7 > Custom to accommodate for RXA-11.4 ids. 

Ledger

  • Addressed some minor field switching and display issues in the Charge Window. 

Managers

  • Addressed an issue in the Codes Manager where if you attempt to drag a particular space in the column header, MacPractice would unexpectedly quit. 

  • Addressed an issue in the Post Payment window where if "Close Paid Claim" and "Create Cross-Over after Payment" are checked, the insurance claim was not closed in error. 

  • Resolved some ERA Manager secondary payment issues. 

Messaging

  • Updated the refresh button to facilitate Updox API changes. 

Miscellaneous

  • Addressed an issue when saving records and navigating away from an Ability, where the user would be prompted to save despite having already saved.

Notes

  • Addressed an issue when dragging a list to a Note Template, where the dropped list would not generate Notes as expected.

Patients

  • Addressed an issue when dragging and dropping Insurance rows in order, where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit in some circumstances. 

Preferences - Server Backups

  • Adjusted the free space check when selecting a backup path, so that purgeable file space is also included when evaluating how much space is available.

Schedule

  • Resolved an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit when saving a new Resource in the Schedule Ability.

Server Backups

  • Updated some backend processes to better handle multiple backups occurring in the same timeframe.

  • Resolved an issue where if you navigate to the eClaims ability, the ability doesn't load as expected until you navigate away and back.

  • Addressed an issue where the Office Tax ID wasn't pulling properly into an NEA attachment as expected. 

EHR

  • Resolved an issue with added EHR narrative notes not being formatted properly.

Ledger

  • Addressed an issue when creating a new charge, then changing the provider and using the plus button to add an additional charge, where the provider field wasn't adjusting accordingly. 

Managers

  • Addressed an issue in the Codes Managerwhere if you attempt to drag a particular space in the column header, MacPractice would unexpectedly quit.

  • Resolved an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit in the New Claims Manager when creating claims.

  • Addressed an issue when using the Update Plan Participation utility, where a database error could occur.

  • Addressed a localization issue where the date formatting in Notes Preferences would not respect the localization settings in OS Settings > Language and Region as expected. 

References

  • Addressed an issue in the Users node where Kiosk users were not being recognized as expected. 

Reports

  • Addressed an issue with the Accounts Receivable report where if several filters are applied to the report, the Total Unapplied Balance column would not honor those filters as expected in some cases.

Schedule

  • Corrected some minor display issues when in dark mode and light mode.

  • Addressed an issue in the Appointment Display node when dragging and dropping text rows in order, where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit in some circumstances. 

  • Resolved an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit when saving a new Resource in the Schedule Ability.

Miscellaneous

  • Updated the OS Alert to advise that Gen 14 can be used on MacOS Big Sur and Monterey. 

  • Addressed several backend compatibility and display issues on MacOS Monterey.

  • Updated the interface to better match with modern MacOS design aesthetic.

  • Addressed a rare issue when restarting a server, where a user would not be able to log into that server immediately upon restart. 

Notes

  • Adjusted the behavior when exporting a Note as a PDF via the File > Export menu option. Adjusting the sorting of a table in a Note will reflect when exported.

Preferences

  • Addressed an issue where  the Postcard Default Type in Forms Preferences did not display all options available.

References

  • Adjusted the behavior of the Insurance Companies References where in Provider IDs, inactive providers will now be shown at the bottom.

  • Resolved an issue when importing a Fee Schedule where MacPractice may become unresponsive requiring a Force Quit.

  • Addressed an issue in the Users Reference on the Provider Tab, where if you use the Choose button next to a Taxonomy field, searching for a Taxonomy code would cause MacPractice to unexpectedly quit. 

  • Resolved an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit during form editing when dragging a label after magnifying a care slip form. 

Reports - Management

  • Resolved an issue where Charting Code Map changes were not reflected in the History Report. 

Rx

  • Adjusted the behavior of the Print Prescription buttons so that using them will be logged in the History Report in the Reports Ability. 

Server Management App

  • Addressed a backup restoration issue via the Server Management App. 

Scheduling

  • Resolved an issue where MacPractice could unexpectedly quit when checking the History Tab of the Inspector with a Transparency Type selected.

  • Resolved an issue where the History Tab of the Inspector not tracking changes to Transparency Types as expected.

  • Addressed an issue where On Call records not behaving as expected.

  • Corrected an issue where if you search in a node in the Scheduling Ability, and only one result is available to be found, an error would occur. 

  • Addressed an issue where the Notes field was too small to enter much detail when creating a Transparency Block.

  • Resolved an issue in the On Call node, where if you save the default On Call record with your cursor in the End Date field without tabbing out of it first, the save would not complete in error.Â
