The Diagnosis (Custom) Reference contains diagnosis codes custom defined by the office. These can be added to your ICD9 or ICD10 Favorites when selecting diagnosis codes, but it is important to note that these diagnosis codes are notuseful for billing purposes. Do not attempt to create a Custom Diagnosis code with the intent of including them on a claim.
Note: The preference to directly bill or use custom codes has been removed for all US clients. It is now only possibly to bill ICD-9 and ICD-10.
To create a new custom diagnosis, click the green plus above the sidebar and fill in the additional information on the right. When finished, Command + S (or Edit > Save Record) to save.
Code: This is the numerical identifier of the diagnosis.
Diagnosis Type: This is the classification of the diagnosis.
Add to ICD9 Favorites: This button moves the selected diagnosis to the ICD9 Favorites list.
A window will open a menu with the appropriate ICD9 codes, select the ICD9 code you wish to add to Favorites and click OK. A prompt will appear reaffirming that the code should be moved to favorites. Once the Add button is clicked, the code will be moved to the Favorites ICD-9 Diagnoses Reference. Note: Once added to Favorites, a code may not be moved back to Custom.
Add to ICD10 Favorites: This button moves the selected diagnosis to the ICD10 Favorites list.
A window will open a menu with the appropriate ICD10 codes select the ICD10 code you wish to add to Favorites and click OK. A prompt will appear reaffirming that the code should be moved to favorites. Once the Add button is clicked, the code will be moved to the Favorites ICD10 Diagnoses Reference. Note: Once added to Favorites, a code may not be moved back to Custom.
Inactive: This checkbox marks the diagnosis as inactive.
Non-Billable: This checkbox marks the diagnosis as Non-Billable.
Alias: An Alias is a unique office designated code that can be input in place of the official Code.
