Bridges - Install the MP Bridge

To use the MacPractice DR Bridge you will need a Windows system set up with access to your local office network. Windows can be running on its own physical hardware or within a virtual machine on your Mac. In either case, Windows setup and configuration is outside of MacPractice Support's scope, and will need to be handled by your IT or other local technicians.

Preparing Windows

The MacPractice DR Bridge relies on two Windows components, the Windows Installer and the Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5. Generally speaking, newer up to date Windows installations will include this software, but it is good practice to download and run these installers to ensure they are up to date.

Windows Installer 3.1

Both of these programs can simply be downloaded and ran, just follow the on-screen prompts.

Installing the DR Bridge

The MacPractice DR Bridge application installer can be downloaded from the following link:

Simply run the Installer file and follow the on-screen prompts.

NOTE: There is an issue with the MacPractice Bridge Installer when run on Windows 7 which will occasionally cause the program to install incorrectly. In such instances, Windows 7 will pop up a dialog at the end of installation indicating that it detected problems, and suggest to "Reinstall with Recommended Settings". If you receive this prompt, select that option and reinstall the app using the Windows recommended settings.

When complete, you should see a white MP icon in your system tray at the lower right corner of the screen. You may also see the Bridge app open automatically.
