Schedule FAQ

How can I see the name of the patient on single unit appointments? (Video Answer)

If your customizable schedule is set to display appointments in smaller increments, the row size may be too small to display the text and block. To fix this, click anywhere in the Schedule, hold the command key on your keyboard, and hit the up arrow. This will make your row sizes slightly taller and the full block visible.

You may also wish to further adjust your settings within the Appointment Display node within the sidebar of the Schedule Ability. For example, the default font size was recently increased from 10 to 12, but you may use whatever font size you prefer. At the bottom of the view, set the font size, text color, or choose to outline the appointments.

Where are the provider names on my Schedule resources? (Video Answer)

If a resource name is longer than the size of a column, the Resource Code will display. You may make the columns wider, shorten the resource name, or use a different resource code.

Adjust the column width of the Resources at the top of the Schedule, near the Resource name and date. Hover your cursor over the gray line separating the Resources until it changes, then click and drag the gray line to the a width that accommodates the longest Resource name. The width will be remembered and duplicated across all columns in view.

The Resource Name and Code can both be edited in the Resources node of the Schedule. Select the node, then select the specific Resource name to which changes are to be made. Within the view, change the Name or the Code in the respective fields.

How do I hide weekends?

Any day can be hidden on the Schedule by opening Preferences > Scheduling > Calendar, checking the box for the "hide the following days" preference, and then highlighting which days you wish to be hidden.

Why is the small calendar in the lower left of my schedule missing?

It may be that the small calendar is simply hidden. Click on the small calendar icon in the bottom row of buttons, then click it again to toggle the small calendar back to the default size.

You may also hover your cursor on the bottom bar until the arrow changes, then click and drag up to display the small calendar.

The calendar icon was relocated and redesigned. The Today button can now be found in the bottom left corner of the calendar.

Why can't I have the time show on both sides of the schedule anymore?

This feature has been replaced with a different feature. Now when you click on a blank interval on the schedule, it will show the time in the highlighted interval that was selected.

My Sidebar has disappeared and I can’t see any of my patients.

If the sidebar is missing, it’s possible that it was actually closed by dragging the end of the sidebar to the left. Move the cursor to the far left end of the MacPractice window until the cursor ends up looking like a small arrow that points to the right. This is the Horizontal Resize Cursor and it signifies that the sidebar can be moved out. When this cursor appears, click and hold the mouse and slide to the right. The sidebar should now appear.
