iPhone Interface - Logging In
The first step in using the iPhone interface is logging in.
To access the iPhone interface, you will need your MacPractice Server's IP address. If you are set up to access the interface from outside the office, you will need your office's External IP address. If you are only using the interface within the office, you can use the server's local IP address.
In order to access the interface from outside your office, you will need to set up Port Forwarding on your network for Port 443 forwarded to your MacPractice Server. Then you will use your office's External IP address to connect.Â
Open Safari on your phone and navigate to the following address (replace YourServerIP with the actual IP address of your server)
https://YourServerIP/iphone
You can then save this page as a button on your home screen by tapping the Share button at the bottom of Safari and choosing the "Add to Home Screen" option.
When you have the site open in your browser, you will see a screen prompting for a username and password. This is your standard MacPractice username and password. Logging in to the iPhone interface will not log you out of desktop MacPractice. By default, the built-in "admin" user cannot be used with the interface.
Tap the Login button to continue.
Once you are logged in, you can tap the Logout button in the bottom right corner to log out. You can set up an auto-logout timer in Preferences.
