Bill as Individual vs Bill as Group

If you bill some insurance companies as an individual, and others as a group, you can determine whether MacPractice will print individual or group information on a per-company basis, in the Insurance Company reference. Go to the References ability, then select Insurance Companies in the sidebar. Expand the node to view your list of companies, then select the company you wish to edit. Under the Provider IDs tab, you will see a list of your providers, and a number of fields, including a Bill as Individual checkbox.

Having "Bill as Individual" checked will strip off all group identifiers from a claim and print only individual identifiers instead. This should only be checked in instances where an insurance company has you on file as an individual where other carriers have you on file as a group. If you have any questions about this checkbox please contact the MacPractice Support Department.
