EHR Preconfigured Section - Medications
The Medications section is used to enter Medications for the patient. An entry added here will then show in the Rx ability and the Medications widget in Clinical. Info already in the Rx ability will pull into the form automatically. This section is designed to show past and active medications the patient is, or was, taking.
This section can be used on patient-facing Clipboard forms.
The following fields will be hidden on Clipboard:
“Currently Taking” checkbox
“PRN” checkbox
“Dispense” field will show as “Quantity”
Non-Printed Notes
“First Record of Order” checkbox
Delete button
This section CANNOT be used on Patient Portal forms.
This section is not where medications would be prescribed (see the Prescriptions sections article here). If a patient enters meds into this section on Clipboard, they are not prescribing their own medications.
The contents of this section are as follows:
Active/All: Active option shows only medications marked as "Currently Taking" / All shows entire history of medications. Meds marked as "Currently Taking" show in the Active Med List folder and all other meds show in the Inactive Meds folder in the Rx ability sidebar.
Medications Verified: Select if there have been no changes in medications from the last record
No Active Medications: Select if the patient is currently taking any medications
"Medications" link: In the resulting popover, search to add any medications pertaining to the patient
"Reconcile" popup: Confirms any existing or newly added medications being added to the patient record
