Common Rejections - Missing/Invalid Secondary Subscriber ID

Missing/Invalid Secondary Subscriber IDRejection messages include, but are not limited to:

  • CLAIM LEVEL - OTHER PAYER SUBSCRIBER PRIMARY IDENTIFICATION NUMBER QUALIFIER IS MISSING OR INVALID

  • CLAIM LEVEL - OTHER PAYER SUBSCRIBER PRIMARY IDENTIFICATION NUMBER IS MISSING OR INVALID

This rejection is stating that the subscriber ID for the insurance not currently being submitted to, or other payer, is missing/invalid. The easiest way to resolve this rejection would be to go to the Primary/Secondary/Patient tabs of the patient account and verify that a valid subscriber ID is entered for any insurance that is active on the account. The claim can then be rebuilt and resubmitted.

Note: It is possible that the claim could be tied to an archived insurance. In this case it would be necessary to unarchive the insurance and update the subscriber information prior to a rebuild. The alternative would be to create a new claim using an active insurance that has the correct subscriber information filled out.
