Rejection Message:

  • Emdeon Reject PATIENT LEVEL - PATIENT INFORMATION SEGMENT IS MISSING OR HAS INVALID DATA

This rejection is stating that there is a dependent listed on the claim, but the relationship information is missing. This is likely because an invalid 'Relationship to Primary/Secondary' was selected on the Patient tab. There are only certain relationships that are valid for electronic claims, so be sure to choose from the following:

  • Spouse

  • Self

  • Child

  • Employee

  • Unknown

  • Organ Donor

  • Cadaver Donor

  • Life Partner

  • Other Relationship

After a valid relationship has been set on the Patient tab, the claim can be rebuilt and resent.
